PanelDex is part of Rooh Sites' collection of free single-purpose web tools. It's built for residential and service electricians, handymen, property managers and facilities staff who look after many panels, and homeowners who need a proper directory after a remodel.
Why we built it
Searching for a printable breaker panel label template mostly turns up blank grids. They don't lay circuits out the way a real panel is numbered, they don't know that a 2-pole breaker takes two spaces in one column, and they don't add up the load on each leg. PanelDex does those three things and produces every printout from one set of entries.
Is it really free?
Yes. Every feature is free, with no account and no paid tier. Each PDF page has a small “Made with PanelDex” line in the bottom margin, and the Excel file has one cell with the same line below the totals. That's how other people find the tool.
How it works
Everything runs in your browser. PDFs are made on your device with the open-source jsPDF library, QR codes with qrcode-generator, and the Excel file is written by PanelDex itself. Panels are saved in your browser's local storage. Nothing you type is uploaded.
What it doesn't do
PanelDex is a labelling and record-keeping tool. It doesn't check wire sizes, breaker ratings or code compliance, and its totals aren't a load calculation. Labelling tool only. Turn power off and follow local code; have a licensed electrician do electrical work.
PanelDex works with any brand of panel, including Square D, Siemens, Eaton, Leviton and GE, and is not affiliated with any of them.
